October 28, 2021
Now that I've lured you in with Kate's puzzle giveaway -- did you see the NINE different authors she has included on the puzzle? Amazing! You have to enter. This is like a collector's item, seriously! -- anyway, here's a couple more news tidbits from me!
BOOK NEWS:
Killer Research comes out on Nov 2 (now go see if you can find it in Kate's puzzle!) Isn't that fabulous?
This book was so much fun to write. Old school librarian Ms. Cole is running for mayor of Briar Creek and all is going well until a dead body is found in the trunk of her car! Gasp! Will this derail her campaign? Surely not! Oh, wait, he's a man from her past...well, well, well...you'll just have to read it and find out what happens next.
"Plenty of well-defined characters add charm and bite to a thorny mystery."

Royal Valentine my first romcom novella debuts on Jan 4, 2022, wherever ebooks are sold and for only $2.99! Featuring a museum of literature in NYC, a Jane Austen exhibit, and a surprise trip to Bath, England, it was my own personal Valentine to all things Austen. I hope you enjoy it, too!
Lastly, there is a smoking HOT deal ($1.99 for an entire year of my life - this is how long this book took to write - absolute bargain!) on the ebook edition of Paris is Always a Good Idea - but it's for a limited time only! Click the highlighted title to grab your copy!

WHAT'S ON MY MIND? Not gonna lie, it's mostly deadlines, deadlines, deadlines. Every time I have a new idea for a book, I am so sure I can just shoehorn it into the schedule...Oy. Clearly, I need therapy, medication, or an endless supply of cupcakes. Yes, let's go with option three until otherwise advised by a medical professional.
But seriously, I had a moment the other day while book shopping (no surprise) at the Poisoned Pen, when I took a moment to really SEE my books on the shelf. I rarely do that, because...deadlines. But on this quiet morning, I did.
And I remembered waaaaaaay back in 1991, I was visiting Arizona (I didn't even live here yet), touring Old Town -- as you do -- and I found the Poisoned Pen. I had yet to write a book, but I had a lot of ideas, and the fire was sparking within me. I wandered the shelves, thinking to myself, someday, someday my book is going to be on the shelf in here. I was absolutely sure of it.
Well, someday -- after several false starts, some personal upheaval, many tantrums, lots of tears, a truck load of self doubt, and many many many pep talks from every single person in my life -- someday finally arrived. It didn't appear looking anything like I thought it would and it took its own sweet time - 18 years and 7 months to be exact -- but seeing my book(s) on the shelf of the Poisoned Pen was and still is AMAZING! And I am so very thankful that I pocketed the courage portion of discouragement, threw out the rest, and just kept going.
Now, it's your turn. What is your dream? Are you still working on it? Has it shown up in your life differently than you expected? Did you find a new dream to pursue?
No matter where you are in your journey, I just want to reassure you that you can have what you dream. You really can. Just keep going! But bring some snacks because I can testify that 18 plus years does require a person to fortify for the long haul! :)
Happy Reading! Thanks for being the best readers EVER!
XO, Jenn
